The Games Review:
Heavy Rain: The Origami Killer as develop by Quantic Dreams and SCEA deliver a new genre for the all gamers. The game that puts the player in the shoes of the character as you control it with an display icon in the most of the game. You can say that Heavy Rain is the games that have concept to play the games like interactive novels.
In the Heavy Rain you have to control four character, each character has a vital part of the game and each character can be controlled by the player as the game in progresses. With the timed-button-mashing-moments during combat, you have to react quickly, if you don’t and you character will dies, it means you lose that character and that part of the story. The goal is to go through the story with every character and experience the psychological murder-mystery from personal perspective.
The interesting part about this game is the choices that have to be made all along the way. This is why the games was so intriguing. There is no right answer or even a righteous one. You have to guess the way to finished the game. React or gut, only with that’s you can finish the game. While a several choice may seem the great thing to do, or the noble, or even the right one, that one decision may have a bad consequence later on in the game.
A serial killer known as the Origami Killer. This is your core antagonist as four character are the key of this game. Replayability is rife here, after you completing the 10-12 hour game, if you wanna to going back in , making another decision will yield some different consequence as the games continues. Well, not everyone will understand and appreciate it.
The setting was set in any town hit by hardship and poverty (the same as America towns in the current economic climate). The game is more adult-oriented, psychological, terror, heartbreak, and present a sense of darkness that pulls gamers along.
The main four character are fleshed out remarkably well. Each character has a sense of familiarity and also a dark side that open up itself. Ethan Mars as a Architect (whose life is ripped apart when one of the children is killed in a car accident), and then the FBI profiler, Norman Jayden (had a drug habit that rears itself at the wrong times), Scoot Shelby as a retired private detective, and the photo-journalist Madison Paige. Each of these character feels real. They action may be controlled, but its feel real as you controlled every action on the character. And that makes seeing bad things happen much more realistic.
Incredible graphics and attention detail is remarkable, a new control scheme also very well realized, moving from some motion elements that anyone would think of this to the onscreen prompts during the action scenes that need your action to hit the corresponding hot buttons. And also the audio is work fines.
Heavy Rain surely is a great achievement, the game success gathered elements to present different genres, and Quantic Dreams forged it into a brand new experience. Heavy Rain goes beyond expectation , the game that you should play.
