About

This site is the home of the W6GGF UHF and VHF repeaters, serving GVARC and the Amatuer radio community of Morgan Hill, San Martin, Gilroy, Hollister, and the Bay Area of Northern California.

The purpose of our club is to learn about amateur radio and to train for, and be able to operate, amateur radios in a time of need or emergency.

GVARC members participate in various local EMCOMM (Emergency Communications), and Community service capacities, such as the Morgan Hill Independence Day Parade and associated activities, the annual Gilroy Garlic Festival, the Hollister Air Show, and Community CERT drills, among others.

GVARC conducts a weekly “net” on Tuesdays at 1930 (7:30 PM) hours on the W6GGF repeater. The UHF and VHF repeater may also be linked so we may run the net with both repeaters. Nets are also randomly conducted via simplex with operator relays as practice. Pleas join us for the weekly net!

The club meets for a business meeting the last Saturday of each month. Due to Covid-19 we are meeting on Zoom – see the Membership tab for details. Feel free to “stop by” and learn about amateur radio or the club.
